Auto-Tunnel Confusion, enable tunnel when not on a specific WiFi? #1137

In reading the documentation it seems like I should be able to get auto-tunneling to work such that if I'm not on a specific WiFi that a tunnel will turn on. However it's not clear how to get this to work. This is on a phone, so Ethernet tunnel doesn't apply. I've turned Mobile data tunnel on. But I'm unclear how to use the "add wifi name" field to tell the app to turn the tunnel on unless I'm on XYZ wifi SSID. Everything I see shows how to get the tunnel to turn on when connected to a specific SSID. Is there documentation on how to accomplish this? |

Hello! To accomplish this, turn on "Tunnel on Wi-Fi" on the Auto-tunnel screen. This tells Auto-tunnel that you would like to engage the tunnel when on Wi-Fi networks. You then click into "Tunnel on Wi-Fi" and add a Wi-Fi name to the "Trusted Wi-Fi names" section. This tells Auto-tunnel that this Wi-Fi name is trusted and that it should disable/not tunnel on this "trusted" network. I hope that helps and let me know any way I can make this more clear in the docs. I'll mark this one as closed for now, but if you're still having issues let me know and I'll reopen. Thanks! |

Hi Thanks for the response! I think I should lay out my use case desire and see if it's possible. If I can get that working, or not, having a better idea of how the settings work I can hopefully provide useful feedback on how the settings are presented in the documentation. I have two separate servers I would like to be able to access at all times. Both are on different networks, each with their own wireguard tunnel set up. When I'm on mobile I want to have both tunnels running. If I'm on the network of one of the servers I want to have that tunnel turned off, but the other tunnel remain on, and vice versa for the other server. From what I can tell from the implementation of auto-tunnel I could have this set up for one to be automatic, but not both? |

ahh! bummer. I'm not rooted/kernel mode. It's not that important, just a nice to have. I'll play with the settings and see if I can get it to work with the primary VPN tunnel I want.
Thanks for the help and knowledge!
