How do check for whether a buffer has uncommitted changes?

I'd like to display a different text color if a buffer has uncommitted changes. How can I do this?

If you mean unsaved, then you can use vim.bo.modified. If you mean uncommitted in git, you'll have to probably hook into gitsigns' APIs for that.
