[Zed's secret sauce with Nathan Sobo (Changelog & Friends #33)](https://changelog.com/friends/33)
14+
15+
- I really want to try Zed, but it is still not out for Windows, and the only way for me to try it on Linux is with a VM, which does not do well for the GPU accelerated effects.
16+
- It does make me want to switch to Linux the next time I reset my computer, just really hoping [SteamOS](https://store.steampowered.com/steamos) is a *real* thing by then.
17+
- To sum it up, as soon as Zed comes out for Windows I would not be opposed to switching from VS Code.

[What exactly is Open Source AI? with Stefano Maffulli, Executive Director of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) (Changelog Interviews #578)](https://changelog.com/podcast/578)
14+
15+
- I don't know what side of the "whether the OSI should exist or not" debate I am on. This episode is definetly food for thought however.
16+
- Nice to see that they are actually keeping up with the times, and changing their definition to match the current thoughts on AI.

[Elasticsearch is open source, again with Shay Banon (Changelog Interviews #614)](https://changelog.com/podcast/614)
14+
15+
- I will admit that I fell victim to the same belief that Amazon ElasticSearch (now OpenSearch) was the same product as Elastic ElasticSearch.
16+
- Good to know that the real reason was just to deal with the trademark dispute, and now everything can go back to normal.
17+
- While not a likely customer for ElasticSearch (for a long time, probably), it was such a hot button issue I thought it was important to learn the backstory.
18+
- While doing some research before writting this post, I was not aware of how large [Elastic](https://elastic.co/) is as as a company now.

[Digging through Jerod Santo’s tool box (JS Party #343)](https://changelog.com/jsparty/343)
14+
15+
- I love these types of episodes. It is cool to see inside how the podcast is produced, and how each person develops in their time, with their personal toolset.
16+
- I wish there was more of this "series" and much more frequently as well.
17+
- I did not find anything super useful in theis episode, but still a great one to listen to.

[AI is changing the cybersecurity threat landscape with Gregory Richardson & Ismael Valenzuela from Blackberry (Practical AI #294)](https://changelog.com/practicalai/294)
15+
16+
- Makes sense that while hackers are using AI to generate new exploits and hacking tools, we can use what we already know about hacks/exploits/tools to try to predict that.
17+
- Next thing we know AV companies will be running local models in our antivirus systems, slowing our computers down even more. Or it will truck all our data back to some data center somewhere, and then that will be breached, and we will really be no better off than we started.
18+
- Cool to see that Blackberry has transitioned from the President's phone to cybersecurity. I did not know they did this but am happy to hear that people there still have a job and they are pushing innovation.
