How to configure UGS for a pen-plotter (single Z-drop instead of milling passes)? #2925

Sry to ask a silly question, I just need to set the target depth as the same of the start depth. Problem solved. |

I'm trying to use UGS to control a drawing/plotting machine, instead of a CNC mill. The XY motion works perfectly, but I need to adjust how the Z-axis moves. Specifically, I want the Z axis to drop the pen onto the paper in one motion from the safe height — not lower in small steps like it does in milling operations.
Right now UGS seems to treat the Z-axis movement the same way as a milling pass, so the pen goes down slowly in incremental movements instead of a single motion to the drawing height. I tried changing several settings, but I may not be looking in the right place because nothing changed.
Has anyone done this before or can point me to the correct settings/workflow in UGS? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
