[Feature] Support Zotero 9 Beta

Describe the feature request

The current release of zotero-actions-tags is incompatible with the latest Zotero beta build.

Should support Zotero 9 beta

Anything else?

Let me know if there's a better way to find out what's wrong with the plugin, rather than seeing this generic incompatible message.

Hotfix: I updated the strict_max_version in manifest.json file to 9.0.*, saved and reloaded the plugin and it has so far worked without any problems.

I use it for a simple auto-tagging feature, so not sure if some other functionality is broken or not. Others might chip in with their own experiences.

Weird, I tried that fix and it didn't work; still said it wasn't compatible.

I had to delete the old one restart Zotero and install again for the new installation to work.

Correct, @vancleve you have to drag and drop the new .xpi file, or select "install Plugin from File" again to make it work.

Does anyone know how to modify the manifest.json inside a xpi file?
Where does Zotero store the plugins? I have searched around, but did not find it.

@WMAM Which OS are you on? On Mac, it's under Library/Application Support/Zotero/Profiles/<random_string>/.

You should be able to find the profile directory on other OS as well. Go to Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Directory -> Open.

Open the relevant .xpi file, modify and then drag and drop the updated file inside "Manage Plugin" section.

My OS is windows 11. I knew where the profile directory was, but there I searched for “plugins” or “add-ons,” and it didn't show up. At least in my case, it was in the “extensions” folder.

Try just reinstalling the plugin.
