Annotation from pdf

Hey,

I really don't understand how this is supposed to work.
We have 6 different templates that are built in the plugin, none are usable manually.
I could launch one by using Trigger Action, but when you selec let's say Quick note from annotation as template, you cannot change after that the template. So if it's not good, or you want to change, you have to uninstall/reinstall the plugin.

The different templates i used (last topic) are invalid : either the parent item if in error when i select the pdf file, or the template is plain empty.

Either i missed something at the beginning of the plugin and in its very use, or it's outdated and non functionnal.

I think it's the first option, but after several hours trying to make it work, i better try with the Q&A

See readme and the templates doc. Builtin templates are not supposed to be "used" as you described.

No when I write different I mean different, several if you prefer. It's not because you have difficulties understanding what I wrote that I necessarily wrote it wrong.

So basically the different problems I had trying to make the templates are just imprecisions in the initial readme on the function of the pluggin.

Please precise that the built-in templates aren't for direct use initially (not at the bottom of another document), and that your pluggin is made to be use with annotations inside Zotero only and not annotations with software like Adobe.

it’s simply impossible to use the builtin template in this plugin, and I don’t see any reason to mention how to use them in other plugins.

to be clear, the difficulties you experienced with annotations from 3rd-party software are not related to this plugin - it's some note template contributed by someone else in the community, the plugin itself does not give any promises on whether they work or not.

and the core of this plugin is about note management, not annotations. the only feature natively provided that involves annotations is the quick note from annotations, which works with annotations outside zotero I suppose.

It apparently only works with annotations managed by Zotero, as you said in a previous post, but then i wonder where the annotations managed by Zotero are stocked, and what variable you use to get them, since the annotation made inside Adobe are apparent in Zotero.

zotero stores them in the database, and I use the apis provided by zotero to access them. i have no idea how this works (or not) with annotations managed by other software...
