insertText does not work in some cases

im using the insertText function in my project to insert text at the position of the curser.
If I call the insertText function and the editor is empty or the cursor is placed before the first character nothing happens. Is this already a known problem or do i use the function wrong?

Have you set builder.sync = true?

No, we disabled this because when the sync is enabled a request after every character is sended to the server. Sometimes we have a lot of people working similar in the editor (75+), than the high amount of request decreases the performance of the application and make it unusable... Is there any other way?
