I wonder if a tpu plug could plug into the SL ports themselves? You could have individual plugs at that point |

My vision is to seal the entire case to prevent debris from entering the system, not just to protect the plug. I have cleaned out a few Rio's in my time. The Yellow Mustard dust of 2020 and the orange Cheeto Dust of 2024 are the more recent examples. Many teams use tape and will continue to do this, but given the option of a TPU or rubber plug might be handy. Other teams that don't tape will continue to not tape. |

When I first saw these two ports in a recessed cavity, it dawned on me that a TPU plug could be printed to seal these ports when not used. This could be a friction fit, or a feature could be added to the mold to create a positive attachment.
Would it be possible to either shorten the other sockets to accommodate a similar application or extend the case around them without causing any other issues or making the overall height excessive?
This would be difficault around the USB-A ports and would make access to the positive retention clips of the MolexSL connectors difficult and likely require a pokey tool to release, but we already need that tool for the CAN buss connectors.
