Describe the solution you'd like

Fantastic integration, I am looking to create some scripts within home assistant that automate the movement and patterns of some motion lights and need to be able to pull against the meter levels per channel. For example I have music assistant playing through channel 1 to my powered amplifier. I can see the meter in the xAir app but not via a sensor in home assistant. I would like home assistant to monitor it to peaks and change the direction of my motion head lights.

I have not found another way to pull the sound into the home assistant for this

I've looked at this before and have been reticent because of the amount of traffic/data it would generate. The behringer mixers can meter data up to 50 times a second. I doubt home assistant would handle that nicely. It might negatively impact other components as well as filling up the database - 4.3million entries per channel per day.

What frequency of data are you looking for? and how would you expect HA to deal with them?

Thats a very fair point. I would be looking to get the info pretty consistently. Essentially I am trying to recreate the sound responding actions that a motion can do when not DMX integrated but utilizing HA and the integration you created. It would not need to save the data simply be able to view it. I am not sure that is possible in HA. Is there a way to potentially not fully integrate it and just have it pull via a webhook or api call from the Behringer without saving it?

It would have to be saved somewhere for it to be available for other automations in HA. It might be possible to have a non-saved sensor.

I think there are potential options like:

• sensor that contained 5 sec peak value- highest value in last 5 seconds
• realtime value, but not logged

But I'm not sure they would be that easy, and I'm really not sure they would accomplish what you want.
