New release for Klipper Mod is ready and it finally brings updated Klipper! I'm adding a bit more context to the release in this comment: First of all special thank to @loss-and-quick, who made this update possible in the first place with his contributions. His work on Klipper compatibility and implementing the 5M specific features (like loadcell) and improvements to the mod build system is the main contribution in this release. He has more interesting changes integrated to his fork for STM32-MCUs, that might end up in a next release. This release mainly focuses on updates for all the core components with seamless MCU firmware update, improving the known stability issues with previous versions, without (hopefully) causing new regressions. Long term testing is needed to properly assess the stability of updated Klipper, but there have been important upstream improvements that should help for the 5M (for example Klipper3d/klipper@d57fe43). Gcode arcs (G2/G3) do now seem run without issues. I completed a stress test print with Klipperscreen variant, Timelapse enabled, Mainsail connected with webcam active in browser, model sliced for high speeds with arc fitting, ramping lift enabled and dynamic fan speed ... if anyone has print that always failed in previous versions, please retest. Please disregard open issues in the bug tracker for now, I will clean them up in the next days to reflect the new release. |

Unoffical mod for Flashforge Adventurer 5M (Pro) 3D printers to run Moonraker, custom Klipper, Mainsail & Fluidd.
The Klipper Mod for ADM5 (Pro) is currently provided in three variants:
If you encounter any issues that could be caused by resource exhaustion (mostly system RAM), please check if the issue also occurs with the lite variant.
Before installation, read through the Readme and other provided documentation. This release should be compatible with all Flashforge firmware versions, starting with 2.4.5 up to the currently latest version. Please be aware that future updates from Flashforge might break compatibility.
Changes
This release updates all core components of the mod to their latest upstream version, including Klipper update to current v0.13.0-285.
This update was made possible due to the reverse engineering and re-implementation of 5M specific features like the loadcell, N32G45x support in Klipper and major contributions to this mod by @loss-and-quick with the help of other community members!
Known issues
The updated Klipper should hopefully solve most known instabilities of previous versions, especially those that could occur mid-print. However long-term testing is needed to properly assess the stability. Due to the limited system resources of the printer, failures due to system overload can never be ruled-out 100%.
In two non-critical scenarios MCU errors are known to sporadically happen due to system overload:
In general it is recommended to occasionally restart the printer when it was powered on for a long time.
Warning
Make sure to backup your data and changed config files before updating!
Clear web browser cache after installing the update if Mainsail or Fluidd update causes any issues.
Caution
If you want to install this mod to your ADM5 (Pro) then be aware, that you risk to loose your warranty or damage the printer. Proceed at your own risk if you want to try this mod!
