Expected behavior

When items are inserted into or removed from an inventory, adjacent blocks should be updated, like a hopper does.
This allows blocks like comparators to detect when an inventory has changed its contents.

Observed/Actual behavior

Adjacent blocks to an inventory which has items inserted or removed using cables do not update, making their behaviour inconsistent with actual inventory contents.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Place two inventories
  2. Connect these inventories using cables, one with an output and the other with an input configuration
  3. Place a comparator next to these inventories
  4. See how the comparators do not update when items are moved, only when the comparator itself is updated
