Hi, I just read up on the XMPP technology and I am trying to make contributions to the already amazing xmpp.js, I need some help setting it up for development on my local machine.
I use windows 😓
Point me to the right resources, thanks.
ps: the instruction in CONTRIBUTING.md isn't working for me, the make command after cloning the repository is not recognized.

Unfortunately I can't help you with Windows but everything will work with WSL 2 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10
Make sure to clone the repository inside WSL2.

Hi Sonnyp, one more question from me and I probably won't disturb you again.
To write xmpp.js, did you just read the XMPP extensions rules in https://xmpp.org/extensions/ and interpreted them into JS or there are some other resources that gave you a better understanding of the extension rules and the general application of the XMPP protocols?

Mostly reading the XEPs and RFCs. https://oriolrius.cat/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Oreilly.XMPP.The.Definitive.Guide.May.2009.pdf while old now was also helpful.

If you intend on contributing to xmpp.js please start a conversation first to makesure it's in scope.
