default pipeline not viewable

To view a pipeline, it must be either directly available to a user through one of their projects or part of a public project.
The default pipelines are not immediately viewable because of this.
Either:
1) make a public project where all default pipelines are viewable
2) add default pipelines to the pipeline designer so users can view/edit  (preferable)
