Python interpreter crashes

This package looks really usefull, but unfortunately I can't get it to work on windows. Used "pip install git+git://github.com/xoolive/quadtree" to install and everything seemed to work fine untill you insert a point. The line "q.insert((1, 2))" crashes the python interpreter.

What am I missing?

Running:
Python 3.5.2 Anaconda 4.2.0 (64-bit) (default, Jul 5 2016, 11:41:13) [MSC v.1900 64 bit (AMD64)] on win32]
Don't know what C++ compiler was used by setup.py, but i have Visual Studio 2015 and 2012 installed.

It seems you compile the package for a 64-bit Python under Windows.

To be honest, I only compiled the latest version of the quadtree package on a 32-bit Python 3.5 (and it worked fine). Compiling C code to be executed by a 64-bit Python is, in my experience (which stopped at Python 3.4) a really troublesome process, prone to crashes like you describe, so I gave up on 64-bit Python for Windows (it is not my main os anyway, so no big deal to me...)

It seems here it should be more direct with Python 3.5, but the key point is that you need to be sure about the compiler that has been used (check the output of your command shell). I am open to feedbacks and I can upload the wheel file on PyPI for fellow users if you manage to prepare one (pretty direct if you have a functional package installed for your Python).

If you need quadtree really bad, right away, or if you want to check first if it's worth the trouble for your needs, I would recommend you install it first on a separate 32-bit Anaconda Python. (You can then try easy_install smartquadtree and install the egg file available on PyPI -- for some reason, I forgot to upload the wheel file at the time I prepared it...)
