Yu ASABE is a masters student at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo.
He is a member of the Esaki Laboratory and the Tsukada Laboratory, with his main focus on Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) and V2X technologies.
His recent interests revolve around cooperative perception of connected vehicles and its integration into the open-source Autonomous Driving Stack Autoware.
He is also an active member of the WIDE Project and the Industrial Cyber Security Center of Excellence (ICS CoE).
- 2021/4 - : Part-time Researcher at Tier IV, working on the integration of V2X functionalities into Autoware, and the realization of Collective Perception.
- 2021/3 - 2022/3 : Internship at Allied Telesis, a company focusing on network hardware and software solutions. Mainly responsible for developing smarter Wi-Fi solutions and device positioning features.
- 2018/8 - : Member of the Secure Information Society Research Group (SiSOC) of the University of Tokyo. Actively supports cyber security training programs at the Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) and focuses on research on IoT security and static malware analysis with machine learning.
- 2019/10 - 2020/2 : Developed infrastructure on AWS for startup Parchie Inc..
- 2017/5 - 2018/12. Co-founded Gracia Inc. as CTO. Developed and launched an e-commerce website called TANP, which specializes in unique gifts and personalized presents. Focused heavily on collaboration and teaching between members and soon expanded the enginnering team to over ten members.
- 2017/1 - 2017/3. Through a program sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he interned in a VC fund and accelerator in Philadelphia, USA called Dreamit Ventures. Focused on conducting interviews and selecting health startups for the 2017 Health Tech Accelerator program.
- 2016/4 - 2017/3. He interned at nLinks Inc., a Tokyo based consulting firm, focusing on marketing research and the strategic use of emerging digital solutions.
