html.renderCodeBlock and attributes #543

Hello,
Is there any reason why html.renderCodeBlock and html.renderFencedCodeBlock do not allow to RenderAttributes as other HTML tags?
If not and a fix is accepted, how to distinguish the attributes targeting <pre> from those targetting <code>?
