Allow not highlighting untracked files as "created" in the project panel

Summary

Currently in Zed, all new files are highlighted as such in the project panel regardless of their git status (staged/untracked). In VSCode new files that are untracked are not highlighted like new files that have been staged.

Current Behavior:
Staged and untracked files look the same (untracked is workspace-8.json)

Desired (VSCode) Behavior:
Untracked file is not highlighted

Hey thanks for letting us know this wasn't the behavior you expected.

However, this actually is the intended behavior.

I'm going to convert this into a discussion so that other people can chime in on whether they'd like this to be the default behavior, a setting, etc. In order for us to measure interest and possibly implement.

I agree. This is inconvenient. Initially I thought it's a theme problem, but then I found that style.created color is used in both cases. In JetBrains IDEs untracked and staged files also have two different colors.

it looks like this ended up being added with the git integration? my untracked files are white now.

I agree that this feature would be good. People coming in from other IDEs (me for example), may be accustomed to seeing a different color for untracked files.

I make myself available to working on this, if approved.

Maybe we can make this behavior disabled by default, but allow users to enable it in settings?
