helix compatibility :commands + tab

Reproduction steps

1. enable helix mode
2. space, colon, form tab
   it selects the 2nd option in the list

Current vs. Expected behavior

in helix, it doesn't select the first option until you hit tab or type out the full command. this mixmatch has me constantly running the wrong command
