Description:
I’d like to request two related features that would significantly improve workflow and container/workspace management in Zen Browser:
✅ Feature 1: Assign a Default Workspace/Container for External Links
Problem:
Currently, when opening links from external sources (e.g., messaging apps, files, terminal), the link opens in whichever container or workspace was last used before the browser was closed. This creates inconsistency and disorganization—especially for users who rely on specific workspaces like “Entertainment” or “Work” to manage browsing sessions.
Proposed Solution:
Allow users to assign a default workspace/container for external links.
Alternatively, provide a rule system for mapping external domains to containers/workspaces (similar to what Containerise does, but native and workspace-aware).
✅ Feature 2: Set a Default Workspace to Open on Browser Launch
Problem:
Zen Browser currently opens in the last active workspace, but there’s no option to set a specific workspace (e.g., “Study” or “Work”) as the default launch workspace.
Proposed Solution:
Add a setting under Tab Management > Workspaces to choose a default workspace to open on startup.
Optional enhancement: allow users to open multiple workspaces/tabs on startup as a session template.
Benefits:
More control over tab/container/workspace hygiene.
Better for task separation, productivity, and focused browsing.
Reduces misrouting of links and need for constant tab shuffling.
