I was looking for this feature recently and thought it was definitely missing. Right now is the only way to do this to assign a container to your space? |

There are currently 2 ways to configure essentials:
As a 3rd option in between, I'd love to see per-space essentials.
These essentials are only shown in the current space and not the other ones.
However, they're not bound to a specific container.
Until folders were introduced, the Superpins mod solved this quite well.
Unfortunately, folders are now also styled like Superpins, breaking the whole layout when a folder is expanded.
To solve this, the mod would probably have to reorder the pins above folders and then style them. This makes the whole sorting quite complex and unncessary, since essentials are actually already a thing.
My use case is that I do have 2 spaces: one for work and one for private stuff.
For work, I want to have the essentials GMail and Google Calendar.
For private stuff, I want to have 2 essentials with another mail and calendar provider.
Right now, this is actually possible if and only if I design containers to my spaces - which I don't want.
I don't think users should be enforced to assign containers to have per-space essentials.
