How to move zen config to use new XDG Base Directory?

Great news that Zen supports the standard config file location. I tried moving the ~/.zen file to ~/.config/zen and relaunching but it doesn't work.

Is there a way to do this without having to reconfigure everything?

Zen will now follow the XDG Base Directory Specification for storing its configuration and data files. This means that on Linux, configuration files will be stored in ~/.config/zen. Note that compatibility with the old configuration directory ~/.zen will be enabled if the directory exists.

I successfully transferred the files using the following steps.

1. Close any running zen instances and backup the old zen profile mv ~/.zen/foo.profile ~/foo.profile
2. Delete ~/.zen (required) and ~/.cache/zen (not sure if necessary)
3. Start zen and click through all the starting prompts.
4. Open about:profiles and click create a new profile. Name it whatever you want.
5. Close zen and delete the foo.<name_in_step4> profile directory in ~/.config/zen.
6. Copy your old directory and name it exactly the same as the deleted one.
7. Startup zen and see that your tabs, extensions and everything else is transferred over properly.

Thank you. The first time I tried - before I posted, I couldn't get it to work so assumed I was missing something. I tried again and this worked. I did nothing else:

1. Close all instances of Zen
2. Move ~/.zen to ~/.config/zen (effectively having a backup)
3. Removed ~/.cache/zen (also uncertain if this was necessary)
4. Restart zen - the window that was invoked had no contents/the sidebar had ghost entries and my settings/extensions were missing.
5. Close zen
6. Restart zen (I did this to try to troubleshoot expecting the unknown state) - and surprisingly everything was back. I was even still logged into mozilla.
7. Reverified that I had removed ~/.zen

I don't want to mislead anyone - maybe this isn't the best way to do this - but I literally did nothing else. The only thing I had to do was close and restart Zen twice after moving the folder.
