While the ability to split the window into multiple views is nice, it isn't very intuitive and practical to use.
I would suggest having a split+tabs system like in VSCode or other IDEs, where each view have its own set of tabs attached to it, with their own tab bars.
For exemple when browsing I often want to have 2 view side to side, for example to watch a video on YouTube while browsing. On the browsing view I want to be able to navigate freely, open links in new tabs that won't make the split view disappear.
Like in IDEs, you should be able to re-organize your views by dragging tabs from one view to another, or or the side of one of the views to create an additional view. By grabbing tabs themselves you also don't need to switch into a dedicated "rearrange" mode.
I think in general it would be more practical to use than spending time unspliting and spliting again tabs each time I create a new one.
Once I get a local build working and understand a bit how things are structured I could work in it, if its a design you want to have.
