Include All Firefox Container Features

Zen comes with Mozilla's Multi-Account Containers extension Containers built-in.

It would be awesome to also include the Multi-Account Containers extension by default, so that features like "Always open a site in a container..." come built-in to Zen.

No, Zen (similar to FF) has support built-in, but not the actual implementation/features of MAC.

MAC is a standalone plugin that works exactly the same way in both FF and Zen.

"Always open a site in" is a feature of MAC, and its present in both browsers (once the plugin is installed)

Yeah I just checked, it actually supports MAC the same way as Firefox does. You probably didn't install the addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/

Yeah, shortly after my post, I did actually end up installing MAC to test to see if it would work in Zen. Looks like it works very well!

I agree. The extension is absolutely essential for anyone who wants to sync workspaces.
There's also a PR to sync contextual identities (containers) but it's being put on hold (#2254).

I agree, this is quite confusing, because the container feature really looks like firefox MAC, but isn't actually the same. I've installed the MAC extension but then I have 2 containers system on the browser.

@ThHareau Hmmm... You shouldn't have two in your browser. Zen comes with containers built-in just like Firefox does. For both browsers, Firefox MAC is an Extension that Mozilla developed that adds enhanced features to the built-in Containers functionality.

That's odd that they're not working together properly for you. If you're experiencing odd behaviors, I would open a bug ticket 👍

My suggestion is to enhance Zen by shipping with the extra features Firefox MAC provides out of the box, rather than hiding those extra features behind an extension install that people have to track down.
