Alternatives to Firefox Sync for syncing across devices? #4946

I suggest adding the ability to simply write Zens settings/bookmarks/etc to a user-specified local folder. That would enable tons of options (onedrive, google drive, dropbox, other cloud services, syncthing, etc). |

Personally, I just want one where it'd be tied to my Nextcloud. Floccus + syncing extensions, tabs, etc. |

There is also tab syncing in question. Because there is no Zen mobile client, I guess, it will be hard to implement syncing between desktop and mobile FF based browser lice Fennec, not only tabs but everything in general. |

Hi, I'd like to propose or perhaps investigate the possibility of integrating synchronization across devices in a way that differs from the current Firefox Sync option.
The idea I had revolves around more or less the same method used by Brave Browser, whereby everything is synced between devices explicitly connected together by the user in a peer-to-peer fashion protected by a 12-word key-phrase (resembling Bitcoin wallets).
This type of protection of privacy, I feel, would go along with the privacy values proned by Zen, with the added benefit of doubling as a convenient sync method that coincidentally strays away from Firefox Sync.
Let me know what you'd think of this!
Also, my apologies if this particular suggestion/topic was already mentioned somewhere else, I didn't find discussions with this particular option in mind, but please correct me if otherwise.
