Some features of Edge's web panels would be great for Zen! #4997

Hi, I definitely agree with your points, especially about the hover feature. It can be a pain to click or use shortcuts every time you want to access the web panels. Additionally, it would be great if Zen could load the most recently used web panel page by default instead of the default one, as this would reduce the number of clicks needed. Your suggestions about making the web panels resizable and keeping them open even when interacting with the main page are also excellent ideas. These features would indeed enhance productivity and make the transition from Edge to Zen smoother. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I hope these suggestions get considered for future updates. |

Guess it would be useful to illustrate what you mean with some pictures or videos, as it is hard for a non-edge user to see how that works. |

Hi,
I’m not sure if this feature has already been proposed, I though I did see it mentioned on Reddit. I’m having trouble fully switching from Edge to Zen because of the web panels. Zen’s web panels are good, but they’re not as productivity-friendly as Edge’s. Let me explain.
In Edge, you can access the panel simply by sliding over the right side of the screen (on the opposite side of the tabs) or by clicking an icon. There’s no need to slide open the tab panel and make an additional click, as is required in Zen, which can slightly reduce productivity and increase distractions. A panel that activates on hover with web panels would be amazing!
More importantly, Edge’s web panels are resizable, whereas I can’t seem to do that in Zen, making the view far too limited for apps like WhatsApp or Pinterest.
Another feature I’d love is how Edge’s web panels remain open even when clicking on the main page. They stay active until manually closed by clicking the Copilot icon, allowing for a sort of “split view” that has its own advantages.
I would love to see a similar integration for web panels to make the full transition to Zen (along with built-in mouse gestures, but that’s another topic!).
I’m curious to hear your thoughts, and I sincerely apologize if this has already been discussed!
