I think you second point is already implemented in Zen. Also with a nice preview for the tabs, quite a good implementation.

Hi, I'm switching from Arc to Zen Browser since Arc is no longer supported.
I have a couple of suggestions to improve Zen Browser:
In Glance mode, the buttons to switch to a normal tab or close the tab feel awkwardly placed. From a UI perspective, they would make more sense on the right side.
It would be great to have more intuitive keyboard navigation. In Arc, pressing
Ctrl+Tab
takes you back to the last tab you visited, which is much more convenient than usingCommand + [tab-number]
. (More native cutomizable keyboard shortcuts #4643)There should be a way to make essentials tied to a workspace. (Each tab group should have a separate set of essentials. #2798)
