Where is the side tab feature?

I used to open and use WhatsApp, Telegram, and many other sites in mobile view on the side tab. I forgot the name of this feature, but it disappeared with the latest 1.8.2b update. Instead, a settings icon has appeared, and I really dislike this change. I enjoyed using WhatsApp in an integrated, compact tab-like manner. Is this feature hidden somewhere else?

I found 2 similar issues that might be helpful:

• Sidebar button is gone - No solution found in the comments.
• "Side panel" icon opens bookmarks panel instead of custom website set earlier - This issue has no comments or references.

(this is just my advice) I would recommend setting a keyboard shortcut for the sidebar. It's so much more convenient than the button
