Make undefined (unset) backgrounds in a webpage white

Not sure if this can be considered a bug, but I'm gonna post about it here - in any browser, be it Chromium or Firefox, the default background color for HTML pages without one set with CSS is white. On Zen, it is instead the theme color/gradient that you set, or even black if you're in dark mode, making it hard to read. And some webpages already count on this being the case by not setting the background, so they render incorrectly. This seemingly is happening with other Firefox forks as well, for what it's worth.

I found 2 similar issues that might be helpful:

• My Zen Browser is keep forcing to use dark mode on some website that doesn't have a default background been set - The suggested solution is to turn browser.tabs.allow_transparent_browser to false in about:config, which may help with the background issue you're experiencing.

• Websites that dont specify body colour become unreadable due to default background colour - The suggested solution is to uncheck browser.tabs.allow_transparent_browser in about:config, and creating a new browser profile also resolved the issue for some users, indicating a potential misconfiguration.

i wonder what toggled that on when seemingly it is off by default (or if it was me messing around in about:config perhaps not knowing what it did exactly)
so perhaps there's no point to keep this thread up so im closing it for now.
