The current background gradients are very nice, but I feel that the option to use blue noise to dither them would be a significant improvement. Using blue noise reduces the jagged and rough look of applying a strong dither to the gradient. This is because blue noise has lower frequencies filtered out, preventing large blobs from appearing in the image, the result being much smoother gradients.
