Can't skip revamped welcome page

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced once I removed all my Mods and Custom CSS.

What happened?

I do webextension development with Zen + WXT. I used to be able to launch a new profile and hit the escape button to get a nice empty, defaults experience, but I can't skip the long welcome setup screen following upgrading to 1.8, and I also get a bunch of default essentials that clutter up my view.

I'd love if ⎋ came back!

Would also like to be able to skip the onboarding especially for testing things in blank profiles.

Don't shoot the messenger, but I've been instructed enhancements / feature requests are kept in the discussions section.

(I agree it would be nice to be able to skip the welcome wizard. Would save me time during issue reproduction/validation as well.)
