Link redirection on split tabs(feature I'm working on)

Guys, I need some help, since I've never worked on this stack, I want to make a logic change like whenever the screen is split in 2 tabs, then if a link of a particular website(eg. youtube, instagram), it gets opened in the split tab to the right without it actually opening in the left one. And since this could be annoying always being turned on, I want to add a simple toggle for it near the address bar. Where do I even begin working on it, can you give me general direction on files on which work is to be done or which part handles this logic and the gui toggle part! _/_

That's actually a neat feature that is implemented in Edge. I have switched to Zen because it has great split screen support just by dragging the tabs.
