Open a tab in glance or spli view

We should add the functionality when we want to open a new tab either with "glance" or by opening it in "split" mode. This would make it suitable for more use cases... in my case it happens to me quite often to open a new tab and then split it, which in the long run becomes quite annoying

I'm all for this. I would love to have an equivalent of "ctrl+t" to open an empty glance tab that I can then go on to split with the current tab if needed.
