Where did the tab unload timer go?

I updated to the most recent version of Zen and the timer for unloaded tabs (~40min) got removed. Is it still a feature of the browser?

The tab unload timer feature was removed in recent Zen versions and replaced with Firefox's native tab unloader. Now, tabs are only unloaded when memory is low, not after a fixed time. You can monitor which tabs are candidates for unloading at about:unloads. If you want to tweak the behavior, you can set browser.tabs.min_inactive_duration_before_unload (in milliseconds, default is 600000 for 10 minutes) in about:config, but this only sets the minimum inactivity before a tab is considered for unloading—actual unloading still depends on memory pressure. To visually fade unloaded tabs, set browser.tabs.fadeOutUnloadedTabs to true. On Linux, you may need to set browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory to true for tab unloading to work. Manual tab unloading is still available via the tab context menu. More details are in this discussion and here.
