You can also use the Zen Colored PIcker from the Zen Mod Store to get the colored background you see or to add a differrent grid or different style frame. Both grid and frame settings are mutally exclusive due to a theming redesign however both switches still work. https://zen-browser.app/mods/03a8e7ef-cf00-4f41-bf24-a90deeafc9db/?q=zen+colored

Oh, sorry, just checked the link above (https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/discussions/9258#discussioncomment-13647693) where I posted the solution in another discussion and apparently it has been deleted. I just retested and still working fine, however I'm on Windows so your mileage may vary. Here it is: about:config zen.theme.gradient.show-custom-colors (set to true) Should work immediately without a browser restart!

In the right click Edit Theme can you add a hex code fielnd option where you can type your own hex color instead of playing around with the toogles? If you know what color you want to theme Zen woulnd't it be easier to just type or paste it in fileld instead of playing around and guessing until you get your prefered color
