Trigger unload tab with keyboard shortcut #9625

You can unload certain tabs with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+W, but this doesn't work for all tab types. For example, Essential tabs are designed to stay loaded, so Ctrl+W won't unload them—this is intentional and has changed from earlier versions where it did work. Also, you can't unload the tab you're currently viewing with a shortcut; you need to switch to another tab first. For pinned tabs, using the '-' key and switching to the next tab is the default way to unload them. There isn't currently a way to customize or remap the unload tab shortcut. Manual unloading is always available via the right-click context menu for supported tab types. More details are in these discussions: 1, 2, 3, 4. To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do?
