Passing Gitlab PAT as Authorization header for streamable http

Can an MCP client send over the PAT as part of the Authorization header instead of the env var? e.g.
{'Authorization':'Token $$$$**$'}

Both PAT (assume private internal gitlab instances) and oAuth2 would be the way to go, especially with MCP 2025-06-18 😄
