[Bug]: Splitting a terminal opens the next one with the same number and they are not independently resizeable

Steps to reproduce

Open workspace with 1 terminal. Do a split terminal, next one will open and will also be named #1 and they are not independently reiszeable. The icon in the sidebar also remains a solid square rather than showing it split in half.

Expected behavior

Each terminal is resizeable, and second one is named #2, icon in sidebar is updated to represent it now has 2 terminals

@ColinMorris83 Hi, sorry for the late reply. I did not receive a notification for this issue.

I currently do not have access to a macOS system, so I can only verify the behavior on Windows and Linux. On both platforms it seems to be working correctly, which makes this a bit strange.

I will add some additional logging in the next update and also review the macOS-specific code path again over the next few days. After the update, please send me the log file so I can investigate further.

Hi @iptoux No problem, i've actually found that you can create an actual new terminal by using the 'Navigate' icon and then picking the 'New terminal' option. So there is a way to create a new terminal that is treated as a second 'slot' and this then all works great, independently resizeable, and the icon against the workspace correctly splits in half.
I guess my question is, and perhaps this is just me, but I'd expect using split terminal to work the same way as the 'New terminal' route.
On Windows, are you saying that when you do split terminal, that does create a second 'slot' and behaves the same as doing New terminal?
