My setup:
LibreELEC (Omega) 12.2.1
Linux LibreELEC 6.16.12 xbmc/inputstream.adaptive#1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Nov 1 11:46:54 UTC 2025 aarch64 GNU/Linux
Netflix plugin 1.23.5+matrix.1
InputStream Adaptive 21.5.18

Beginning 26.03.2026 suddenly Kodi with Netflix plugin stopped playing video stream, only audio. I reinstalled widevine library, tried different versions, different resolutions... Nothing helped. In logs I see something with decryption. Logs are attached.
On my notebook Dell 5400 with Archlinux and Kodi 21.3, adaptive 21.5.18, netflix plugin 1.23.5.matrix1 everything is playing fine, no issues.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Open Kodi -> Netflix plugin
2. Login and open some movie.
3. Result: you can hear audio, but the video does not starting

I'm having the same problem here. Starting March 26, 2026 Netflix plugin stopped playing video stream, only audio. Unfortunately, I can’t fix it.

My configuration:
RPi5 with LibreELEC 12.0.2
Netflix add-on 1.23.5+matrix.1
Inputstream Adaptive version 21.5.9.1

I hope one of the contributors or users of this add-on can figure out what’s going wrong. If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.

No, because on my laptop with x86_64 architecture everything is fine.

Dear All!

Same for me, but just when i set up resolution limit. (Rpi3 cannot render 1080p correctly, so i set the limit to 720p)

I tested all of variations. Without resolution limit can stsrt the scree but lagging becuse of pi3.

With AV1 the same. Green-purple scrreen.

Having the same issue since some days: black screen in Netflix, sound works. I updated the previously pinned inputstream.adaptive 21.5.18.1 and now at least I have video, only it is green and distorted. Tried all resolutions nothing works correct.
RPI5 with all the latest versions.

In my debug log I see this that might be a pointer (decrypt failures?). if more information is needed or if i can help produce useful info please let me know!

With VP9 enabled in the Netflix add-on, I can play the low-res VP9 stream for about two minutes before the video goes black. The audio continues to play.

This looks a lot like a previous issue with Netflix's H264 streams, sometime back in 2025. It had to do with ad blocks in the encrypted Netflix streams (or perhaps the first two minutes being unencrypted) and was eventually solved with an update of Kodi's InputStream Adaptive add-on.

They said in the #2014 that "sorry but n€tflix plugin have a discontinued development from last years and it have many problems so it's not worth investigating about something that isn't working properly".
But it must be something on Netflix’s side, because on that day (26.03.2026) nothing was changed: the plugin versions were the same, and the libwidevinecdm.so library was unchanged. It happened suddenly, so I suspect the changes were made on Netflix’s end. And why was the x86_64 architecture not affected?

So just out of curiosity, netflix is one of my most important use case for my libreelec setup (next to librespot).
Are there alternatives for using Netflix on libreelec / kodi?

Agreed - but I suspect that the 26th March change on Netflix's side rendered the unchanged InputStream Adaptive Kodi add-on incapable of decrypting the changed streams? No idea why x86 was not affected. Perhaps underlying libraries?
