minecraft crashes on launch in every forge instance on Linux

Description of bug

when i press play, minecraft crashes immediately in every forge instance.
i tested this with:

a completely clean minecraft 1.20.1 + Forge 47.4.10 instance (no mods);
a modded instance.

the result is the same in both cases.

important details:

OS: Arch Linux
ElyPrism: AppImage
Java: Microsoft OpenJDK 17.0.15 (bundled with ElyPrism)
the same instances work correctly in the official Prism Launcher on the same system.
the problem only occurs in ElyPrism.

The log ends with:

Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/Util$3
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.minecraft.Util$3

Since the crash also happens with a completely clean Forge instance, it doesn't appear to be caused by mods.

Steps to reproduce

• Install ElyPrism AppImage on Arch Linux.
• Create a new instance with Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge 47.4.10.
• Do not install any mods.
• Launch the instance.
• Minecraft crashes immediately before reaching the main menu.

Additional information:

• The exact same instance works correctly in the official Prism Launcher.
• The issue only occurs in ElyPrism.

Try adding -Dforgewrapper.skipHashCheck=true to your java args. don't think it's the solution, but there's a chance
