data/wav/p1st00.wav can't be loaded and data/text.asm can't be loaded

I'm trying to get this to work on debian 13.5 and it gives me that error whenever i try to start it. I have all the .dat files copied from my disc and updated to 1.02h and i've done everything i can think of to get it to work.
