ace is slow to exit when --hmr is used

Describe the bug

When I run node ace serve then type Ctrl-C to stop it, it quits immediately. When using node ace serve --hmr then it takes about 30-45 seconds to quit. Trying Ctrl-C many times doesn't exit any sooner.

I am using OSX Sequoia.

That 30–45s exit delay sounds like the HMR watcher (likely chokidar/swc) not being torn down on SIGINT. Could you share your Node version and a minimal reproduction repo? It'd also help to know whether the same delay happens on a fresh pnpm create adonisjs web kit, to rule out app-side handlers.
