I would like to request an option to unlock Apple’s built-in macOS applications, such as TextEdit, Mail and Safari, for cleanup purposes only. This would include the removal of:
Cache files
Preference files
Temporary and support files
The intention would not be to delete or uninstall any default macOS applications, but to allow the same safe cleanup behaviour that is currently available for third-party apps, similar to AppCleaner.
Over time, these system applications can accumulate a significant amount of cached or obsolete data. Being able to manage this within the application would be very helpful for maintenance and troubleshooting, while still preserving macOS integrity.
An optional toggle or advanced setting to enable this behaviour, with clear warnings, would be ideal.
Thank you for your continued work and for considering this request.
