Linux Version Crashing On Startup With Error

Can't launch SM64COOPDX as it crashes on startup

Same issue happens no matter if I use
-the linux or steamos github download
-the yay version
-build from source

Has been happening past 2 versions at least.
Had it work once but after closing the app started getting this issue.

I tried a bunch of things to try and fix it with chatgpt couldn't figure it out. I assume its an issue with using arch kde plasma wayland or just the program itself.

tl;dr: try SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 ./sm64coopdx or SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland ./sm64coopdx, if that doesn't work try setting msaa to 0 in ~/.local/share/sm64coopdx/sm64config.txt

Editing the msaa from 16 to 0 worked fixed my issue

the same error happens here. When I was using a Kubunto X11, it worked normally. The problem started when I updated my distro to a new version that forced me to use the Kubuntu Wayland mode (the Kubuntu x11 is discontinued now).

Many distros are migrating to the wayland because the Wayland security environment is safer.
When you try to force an X11 application to run on the wayland, the application tries to be emulated in an adapted environment, and this emulation maybe is glitching the detection of OpenGL.

Only one SDL window is created, that's 100% for sure the case. Unsure on if this is a linux configuration issue or something else. If you both still haven't figured it out, if you haven't look at the MSAA setting in .local/share/sm64coopdx/sm64config.txt and set it to 0 as OP as LamasCartoons did.
