[Feature Request] Detect Memories automatically

I was expecting memories to be created automatically when a photograph is linked to a trip or visit

Did I misunderstand how the memories should work or is indeed a bug preventing memories to be automatically created?

Hi @Barosky,

no. At the moment memories are created by hand by the user. You need to set a start date and maybe end date and reitti pulls in all it founds in that timeframe and "hopefully" creates a good baseline for your own memory. They are meant to bundle all photos, visits and trips of a vacation for example.

But it is honestly a good idea to have them be suggested if possible.

I tried creating a memory by hand. I set a start and end date, reitti did his things for a while and then ended with an error:
Error creating your memory: PreparedStatementCallback; SQL [INSERT INTO memory_visits (user_id, original_id, memory_block_id, name, start_time, end_time, latitude_centroid, longitude_centroid, timezone) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?) RETURNING id ]; ERROR: null value in column "name" of relation "memory_visits" violates not-null constraint Detail: Failing row contains (8, 1, 26926, 6, null, 2015-06-28 06:44:00, 2015-06-28 06:51:00, 43.340155575044506, 11.318082825004046, Europe/Rome).

After the error, the memory setup has been automatically switched to an open-ended one

Ok, this looks like a bug now. It tries to save a Visit without a name into the DB. Which, should be fine and I thought I already fixed that. Let me have a look and I will issue a new release then.

@Barosky The fix for #916 is in main now. If you switch to the develop tag for reitti you can use it before the release is done.
