App Key Application Process #1607

Is this why you keep rejecting every request anyone is making? Its becoming an issue for people to not be able to creating an API key for their OWN stores access.... |

How can we request an increase to our rate limit quota? We already contacted support, but they told us that we need to hit the current rate limit multiple times before they can review and approve an increase. Our business is already live in production, and hitting the rate limit means we must wait until the next quota period before we can continue processing requests. This impacts our operations and user experience. Is there any way to request a proactive quota increase without repeatedly hitting the limit? |

Does etsy hate money or something? |

Is there going to be an update on this? |

Very keen to have an update here. Have been using the limited Etsy API for product searching for awhile now. Recently applied for commercial access but been stuck at "Pending Commerical Approval" step. Would really love to find a way to better work and drive traffic to Etsy! |

I've been diligently working on getting an API key for use on my own Etsy account only, which will allow us to drastically increase the products that we offer on Etsy. I've been trying now for several months & via 4 separate app submissions to get an API key now, but I'm just repeatedly denied. I reach out to Developer Support & am told that I should review the feedback I was given with the denial, but there is no feedback, so I have no idea why I'm being denied repeatedly. I've wasted an enormous amount of time on this so far, and would really appreciate it if someone at Etsy Support could please help me. I've worked with 30+ different API's previously for marketplaces, advertising channels, CRM's, etc... & have never had such issues with getting API access, not even close. Typically you just request access & have it within minutes, and I've never seen anything like this where it takes months to get approved & there's no way to determine why I'm being denied & my apps continue to be banned. You would think that Etsy would want their sellers to have better tools & to offer more products, so that their sellers & Etsy themselves could make more money, but apparently not. |

Is there an update on this at all? I assume this is why a request for access to just our own store was rejected... This is painful for our store, any extra info here would be appreciated |

I've been getting the run around from Etsy support on my app access, came here to submit a formal review request to see that others are having the same problem. My app is repeatedly getting "banned" with no clear answer as to why. My use case is clearly stated along with the permissions I am requesting and why. I have updated my Privacy Policy on my website to reflect the data being accessed and have thoroughly read Etsy's API terms of use to ensure my app complies. Still getting banned though. Please advise! |

When will the revised process be ready? Genuine developers are getting their apps banned without explanation, and with no way to appeal or get feedback, there's no path forward. Looking forward to the update. |

Any update on this? I have been selling on Etsy and developing through the API for nearly a decade and I can't manage to get a new API key. This is really harming sellers unfortunately. |

I had my app banned this morning after I requested commercial access. Now I don't even have personal use. Amazingly the personal use took 3 weeks to get but I got banned overnight for commercial. Has anyone tried to reapply after making changes and have it work? Do you think reapplying for personal access will work against me later? This is so frustrating. |

Is there going to be any sort of update on this? It has been 6 weeks since this post. I applied for a personal use approval to just manage my own shop and it was banned almost immediately. |
Uh oh!
