Document Digest

A skill that summarizes a dense administrative, legal, insurance, trust, entity, subscription, or operating document into clear, plain-English notes, and surfaces the questions to put to counsel or an advisor. It does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice.

What it does

Produces a digest: document type, plain-English summary, key parties, key dates, obligations, risks or unusual terms, questions for counsel or advisor, and action items.

Who uses it

Operators, chiefs of staff, and executive assistants who need to understand a document quickly before it goes to a professional.

How to use it

  1. Paste the document or a representative excerpt (see SKILL.mdInputs). Provide only sanitized material, and use an approved environment for sensitive documents.
  2. Invoke the skill (see the Example request in SKILL.md).
  3. Treat the digest as a plain-English read, not a legal interpretation. Verify dates and obligations against the document.
  4. Route the Questions for counsel or advisor to the appropriate professional before acting.

What it will not do

  • It will not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice or interpret the document as a professional.
  • It will not invent clauses, dates, or assume "standard" terms.
  • It will not recommend signing, declining, or executing the document.

Files

Output is a plain-English draft for human review. Not legal, tax, or accounting advice. Have qualified professionals review the underlying document before acting.
