ghost keypesses when using inside yazi file manager

when using chafa inside a file manager it sends random keypresses to the file manager like /, r, : and sometimes ansi escape sequences following it like 10;rgb:c0c0/caca/f5f511;rgb:2424/2828/3b3b

cause

bisecting shows the bug was introduced in this commit eef0955 (this also has a bug that prevents it from building so its a combination of this and the next commit after it)
