How to speedup ignis command?

I currently have a fully working ignis setup, with keybinds using registered ignis commands. But now I have the following problem, there is a 2-5 second delay on every ignis command, even when just doing something simple like a print statement. This makes my UI feels sluggish when for example opening my app launcher. Are there any suggestions for how to speed this up?
