Odd screen flickering issues with Gather app #1023

Hey there! Recently I've run into an issue when trying to screen share with the gather desktop app. As you can see in attached videos the 'border' that gather puts around windows flickers back and forth between the gather app and the shared screen. This does not happen with aerospace disabled. I'm not entirely sure if this is on aerospace or gather though and I'm also persuing figuring out how to report this as an issue to them but I'm doubtful they are going to put a lot of effort into supporting a relatively niche app like Aerospace.

Interestingly this issue does not happen when the gather desktop is on the same screen that is being shared, but then if I try to push the gather window off to another workspace while screen sharing it kicks back up again.

Not sure if this is helpful but this is the output of aerospace debug-windows where I start while sharing, click over into the gather window, then back to alacritty to end the debug session.

@rmathews-eb i'm seeing this as well, i added the following to my config:

if.app-id = 'com.gather.Gather'
check-further-callbacks = true
run = 'layout floating'

as long as i have gather in the same workspace as the content i want to share, this seems to work. if i have it in a different workspace, i still get the error you described.

gather seems to have all sorts of issues w/ aerospace. for instance, i'm unable to find a way to leave the floating windows while sharing "unmanaged", even with the above callback. they are always pushed offscreen.

@rmathews-eb wondering if you've run into this?

I have the same issue with Chime.
If I only set the layout to floating and stick to one screen things seem to work. If I want to move the Chime to a workspace as well I also get the blinking effect on both screens.

Whoever experienced the same problem, I suggest temporarily switch to the Browser version of the Gather.
For me personally it is even better from performance point of view to have Gather in a separate incognito window in a different screen.

With latest Gather version issue does not happen ff you use native MacOS Picker.
Uncheck option General->Desktop->Disable Native Screen Share Picker )
