Urgent windows

Today a friend of mine told me about the concept of urgent windows in linux (I forgot what DE/WM they were using).

But basically the idea is that you can use some commands/notification to mark a window (for example a terminal) as urgent, and the you'd have a way to visually see the space that has a urgent window, for example by making the space red here:

and also a shortcut to jump to the most recent urgent window (it could be a stack too)

I think most of this could be built as a plugin/external command for aerospace, but wanted to share the idea in case it is interesting for others and I'd also like to know if there's a way to maybe customise this ui a bit:
